Brutalism

This project was inspired by my dissertation about the post-war redevelopment of Southampton. In particular, a response when asked about Wyndham Court -

“I HATE THIS PLACE!”

I wanted to expand the idea of brutalism beyond architecture, and focus on texture, form, and materials in my art. This led to me exploring techniques such as scanography, scale, and the DIY history of punk. This project was developed as part of an art residency at Solent University.
